A/C conversion?? on my '81 245... 200

Hi all. As the spring season warms up, I start to think about the hot summer driving. I have been thinking about the possibility of converting the old R12 to R134. I have a couple of questions to you folks.

1. Is it worth fixing what I have, the old R12 system, if it's still possible OR it's better off looking into converting?

2. If I were to convert, where can I find the conversion "kit" from? And is using the "kit" the only way?
