93 940 Hole in the block from a rod

I bought a 93 940 with 150k on the clock and a bad engine, it looks like it threw #3 rod and put a hole in the RH side of the block. With only 150k on it I was surprised to see this, my 87 740 has over 250k on it and is going to be the engine donor for the 940. the car is in very nice shape and has dealer service stickers on it, so it looks like it had very good care ?? i don't get it it there something about the 93 b230f engine ??
