Hi folks,
I swapped my FPR this afternoon before lunch, and I discovered that there was little or no pressure in the rail or fuel line. I'm confused. I was in 'battle gear' with a mask, a box of rags, and a catch pan - and perhaps 1 fluid ounce dribbled out of the FPR.
If the 22-year-old FPR was indeed defective like I had deduced, I am comfortable with the idea that it simply did not hold pressure. My whole intake and vacuum system smells like gas, and the FPR vacuum hose especially (which I replaced with new, braided vacuum hose).
I will take a drive today, after any spilled gas on the rail has had time to evaporate, and see if I notice a difference in performance and power. Last fill-up, with city driving on plus gas, indicated a mysterious 22 mpg. I was astonished.
Thanks,
Ari
