Oil pressure sender location - does this seem like a good idea? 700

Hi folks,

I've got an issue here that I need some advice on. The oil pressure sender for my Sunpro gauge is huge - much larger than I would have thought, given what it does. I am attempting to mount it in the front-facing oil galley plug hole, which is conveniently 1/4" NPT. I have not yet taken the plug out, because simply holding the sender in that spot makes me keenly aware of how close the water pump pulley will be to the sender. I'm not even sure that the sender will clear the power steering bracket.

If I can get it in, is it at all wise to have the sender in that location? I would zip tie the sender wire to the side of the sender to prevent it from being caught in the belt, and run it underneath the exhaust manifold parallel with the idiot light wire.

Thanks,

Ari
