Damp/wet Starting/running problem 200

My '87 240 DL B23F is giving me fits. Today, we had an inch of rain, that is its soggy! The 240 started with some difficulty, it did a lot of 'bucking' but finally caught and ran raggedly for a minute or so. We let it idle to 'dry out' for about 5 minutes. When we gave it some gas to back out it died. Repeated attempts at restaring were futile. It will start to catch on cranking but immediately die. The engine 'bucks' badly during these attempts. Tried at least a couple dozen times, without success, until battery started to die. I'll try again tomorrow since the rain seems to have left for now. This has happened a few times over the last few weeks, but never with restart impossible. About a week ago it started fine but started 'bucking' at a stop light 3 minutes after starting, on a fairly damp day. Feathering the gas allowed the problem to pass. It has new (a couple of months) HT wires. No sparking/arcing/leakage across wires or wires to block are visible. Just replaced the water pump which was leaking. Condition was present before and after replacement. Cleaned 25 amp fuse blades to no avail. I'm thinking that the fuel injection is what is reacting to the excess dampness but no idea why/how or what to check. Ideas please. Thanks
