I have a question about the stock rubber suspension bushings.
I have a spare set for my 245 that I don't expect I'll need for quite a while, but I don't know how long they'll keep, or what the best way to store them is.
Just sitting in room temperature or garage temperatures in storage, rubber bushings will deteriorate over time, from what I've been told.
I have three questions:
1. What's the shelf life of unused rubber bushings in storage? When do they start to go bad enough that they're not worth installing?
2. How does rubber fare in cold storage? Fridge? Freezer?
3. What's the useful life expectancy of rubber bushings installed on a vehicle? ...Too many variables for a rule of thumb? My 245 sees only gentle driving, mostly on highways, running maybe only 5,000 miles a year at most, in central Ohio climate.
Thanks.
