I just had the rear suspension bushings replaced at $$$$.
The big ones in the casting called the "knuckle" were shot on both sides, causing the alignment to be out and wearing out the rear tires. Volvo book says 3.4 hours to do each side.
Labor could be reduced if the entire knuckle were replaced, but that part is over $500. EACH!
The car has 135K miles and it seems that this replacement is too soon.
The main front bushings are bad also but the car drives ok and does not wear tires.
Who else has replaced the rear bushings?
The FAQ does not mention this as a weak part.
I do tow a trailer a bit but I towed it with a 240 for years and never replaced any bushings.
Any thoughts?
