940 Catalytic Converter..too short? 900

Just got a replacement cat 1994 940 after the flange on my old one rotted away. Seems everyone has the same part listed, but the new one it is definately two inches too short, even though it is listed as a direct fit.

The rest of the muffler is fine, but wonder if others had the same issue.
