What year did Volvo start using this feature on the 700 models?
Reason I ask is that I have a trailer light harness adapter I got from an '87 740 in a junkyard and wonder how well it will work with my '92. It has no markings and there are 4 (white, green, red, yellow) wires going in and 4 (white, black, black, white) wires coming out that connect to the plug. I cut this out, leaving parts of the taillight wiring attached so I can identify where it was connected and there doesn't appear to be a 12v feed like these modules are supposed to have. I haven't tried to connect it to test it yet. Has anyone experience with a 4-in-4-out adapter and will it cause problems? I wouldn't mind the lamp out warning coming on just when the flashers or brakes are used, but I wouldn't want it on constantly. Also, could any damage be done by not having a 12 volt feed? My trailer only has a pair of taillights with 1157 bulbs (or equivalent).
