I bought a used wiper motor to replace my dying one. The eBay auction said that it was for the 1988 - 1993 240s, even though my 240 is a 1984. I bought it anyway thinking that all wiper motors would work on the entire 240 line.
After installing it, simply turning the ignition key to accessory would blow the #2 fuse. That fuse was fine with the old motor.
The only differences between the two motors I could find is that my wiper motor has an extra bolt hole exclusively for a grounding strap; the eBay one doesn't have this hole and uses a tab on one of the upper mounting hole as the ground (I assume).
Wadaya think, lads?
BTW, I'm going to open the old motor to see if I can repair it.
