O2 - replace it or not? 200

1992 245 173k

Some may remember my recent problem of intermittent stalling while driving. I replaced the fuel pump relay for now, still need to drive it more to see if it fixed THAT problem.

Meanwhile, other symptoms I am having:

1. somewhat erratic idle, but not too rough, and no stalling while idling (yet)
2. OBD code 2-3-2 (= lean/rich O2)
3. a very strong smell coming from the exhaust, of exhaust fumes, like very old cars used to often have. Not rotten eggs, just exhaust fumes. I do have some holes in the exhaust but the smell has all of a sudden gotten really bad.
4. gas mileage has dropped from 25 mpg mixed driving to barely 22 mpg, despite recent tune-up

Going through some old records I could see that there was some repair done to the O2 wiring in 2001 @ 107k, but it was not replaced. I wonder if it was ever replaced, there are no records of it. It is one of those "lifetime" heated ones, but how long do they really last?

It needs an oil change soon, should I have the O2 sensor replaced at that point?
