240 Coolant type 200

Hi BrickBoard,

I recently helped a friend do a coolant flush on a newly purchased 1992 240 with 115K miles. We used a Prestone Dexcool type of coolant which is silicate and phosphate free. However the color was red which I'd never seen. From what little I've read the type recommended for the 240s is a yellow/green color.

What does the color signify? I'm wondering if we screwed up.

Thanks.

Bill
