The Nivomat shocks that were on the Bertone when we picked it up months ago were leaking fluid in the drive and the car set way down in the back (pic in corner). The suspension stops had been knocked off and some of the coachwork bent from the the rear of the car bottoming.

I was looking in the FAQs and found a good article on converting the IRS Nivomat to a standard coil and shock system. The coils that were left over from the 86 245 to IPD heavy duty replacement were the same diameter as the 780 springs with a larger cross section wire. I clipped the pigtail on the 245 spring and put it in. The shocks are a set of after market Gabriel gas (which may be too stiff) from the front end of a 1997 GMC Yukon. The top tube spacer had to come out and a longer one installed to prevent side movement in the Volvo upper mount. The bottom mount was a two bolt system similar to the Nivomat with the same hole centers.
