Odometer repair for a 1992 200

Hi,

I just bought a used 240 wagon. The odometer stopped last year. I figure the car has about 8000 more miles than the clock shows.

The trip odometer works; the 'master' does not.

What is likely to be wrong? Is there a gear in there that needs replacing? How/where do I order the correct part?

Is it possible to advance the odometer to more-or-less the correct mileage?

It's not really critical, but I'd like the odometer to be more or less correct so I can track maintenance, etc. Also I'm sort of compulsive and it will bug me if I don't fix it.
