No Fuel to the engine. 700 1990

I replaced the fuel pump on my 1990 volvo 740 gl it ran for about 30 seconds then cut off I did this a few times then there was no fuel going to the engine. I have replced the fuel relay but there is no voltage going to the pump... does anyone one what the problem could be.
