I have a 1989 240, 151,000 miles.
CEL came on and gave me a code of: 2-1-2 Oxygen sensor signal. So I got the O2 sensor replaced, starter went out, so replaced that too. Got the tranny flushed in the same day at the shop.
About an hour after driving it home from the shop the car was idling rough and CEL light went on again, this time the code was 2-3-2 Lamda adjustment.
Took it back to the shop and they checked for leaks/ issues in the maifold, the vacuum/seals, nothing found. I cleared the codes and WHAM!! CEL light again, this time showing a code of 1-1-3 Fuel injectors. Still running a little rough, getting half the gas mileage before all of this and the fuel smells like its burning very rich. I would get 220 miles per tank, now 130 miles per tank....eeesh. I have disconnected the fuel injectors while the engine was on and they are performing fine. Cleared the code and got another 2-3-2 Lamda adjustment. Cleared the codes again and have been getting the 1-1-3 fuel injector since then. My fuel pressure regulator is original. It;s not running too rough right now. Only symptons are CEl light is on and gas milelage is very reduced. Should I replace the fuel pressure regulator?
What do you think is going on?
thank you in advance!
