Brake Lights Thankyou 700 1990

I was on a little road trip in my 1990 740T Wagon that I have had for about a year now, when a guy jumped out of his car at a stop light to tell me that I had no brake lights. I spent some time trying to trace the problem and could find nothing. This car has very low mileage (44,000 miles) and everything seemed to be perfect. So I got out the laptop and went to the 740 faq and found out what was wrong in 5 minutes. The light burnout relay was the problem and the dead giveaway was the fact that my cruise control had also stopped working recently. I phoned a nearby auto wrecker who just happened to have a 90 740 in the yard and I was back on the road in just an hour and a half. Most of that time was spent trying to trace the fault. I had funny feeling about relays, based on previous reading on the faq, but I would never have suspected that particular relay. Anyway thanks to all who have contributed to the faq.
all the best
Rob
