I'm torn about getting another Volvo wagon to replace the old beater `993 965 (still with the leaky fuel line). Truth is, I desperately want a V90 but finding one that will suit my wife's demands (around 100k miles) is proving nearly impossible. So, I expanded the search into M-Bs and they are quite nice. Pretty much the W210 models. But, I still don't think the 3.2l is as nice as the B6304. However, the interior on the M-B is much nicer. The ride is probably a toss up with the edge going to the Volvo (feels stiffer in the corners). Budget for this acquisition is only around $8,000 so I am limiting to 1998-2001 M-Bs, if I decide to buy that marque.
Or, I could find a V90 with a bit more than the self-imposed mileage maximum (I have seen some with 140k-150k miles) but I can't convince the wife of the reliability of the V90; she wants a car that will last for at least five years without major work. OTOH, she does know that I have some facility working on Volvos. I'm really on the fence with this decision. I don't know jack about M-Bs although I am sure I could learn.
any feelings on the M-B?
