In Tank Pump Removal Question 200 1985

I need to replace the small hose located on the in-tank pump. Is there a way to remove this pump without disconnecting-(basically cutting)the hose on top of the pump that is connected without a clamp? Someone said I could disconnect this hose further back at a clamp connection. Is this true?
