I installed Bilstein Touring shocks on my 1990 240 wagon not long ago.
Since installing them, every time I go over a speed bump or similar terrain, I get a loud KA-BONG sound from the rear, that does not sound healthy. If it's a high-profile speed bump taken at relatively high speed, I can even feel the impact of this Ka-Bong hit through the floor board and seat.
I can only assume this is happening because of the rear Bilsteins. I'm not a suspension expert: could something else besides the rear shocks be the culprit?
Could it just be the stock coils have lost their springiness and can't keep up with the Bilsteins?
