How do I pressure test heater core? 900 1992

Hi,
I've got a 92 940 that I think has a very slow heater core leak. I was smelling it inside, had slow coolant loss and with a by-pass the smell seems to have stopped. I want to be sure I am right before spending a weekend ripping my dash apart and also would like to be able to verify the new one is ok.

Any recommendations on how to plumb up the test on the core? What types of hoses or fittings to use? Also, what kind of psi do I test with and how long should I expect it to hold?
