90 Blower Motor 700 1990

The blower motor on my '90 740 is making a noise. Sounds more like something is hitting the cage. Is this the noise they make as they die?

It should have the two wire connector. The single connector ones are much cheaper. Can I just add a ground wire to a single connector blower motor's frame?

I can get the Siemens PM129 single connector motor locally for $27 instead of the $80 plus shipping two wire one. Any one done this?

Thanks!
