Hi,
I have a 91 245 that I love, and a newborn baby, that I love. I have been able to install the car seat in the center of the rear seat using the center lap belt some what securely but there still seems to be a bit of side to side movement/twisting. The car seat installed in my wife's car that has the L.A.T.C.H. system anchors seems to have less side to side movement. I am thinking of trying to retrofit a L.A.T.C.H type system for my car by installing the luggage tie-downs that are found in the 240's cargo area or in between the rear doors and sides of the seat. I would unbolt the center lap belt and stick these anchors behind the seatbelt anchors. I haven't looked closely at these things in a while but I think it would work safely. Has anyone tried this or have any thoughts about this? I have never secure anything to these tie-downs before so I am not sure of how secure they are but they look substantial.
Just so no one flips out, the safety of my child is of utmost importance and I will not to anything that people feel would compromise his safety.
