Hello all! I have a few questions pertaining to my '88 740 GLE and have decided to ask them all at once :).

I am planning on a thousand mile trip next month, and not having done much engine maintenance in the past year, am wondering what I should be checking for wear or problems, or replacing, before I head out.

My second question has to do with the automatic sunroof. When closing it, the sunroof doesn't stop when closed, instead it will close and then open the flap. The same, yet opposite happens when closing the sunroof when the flap is open. Does anyone have any idea on what might cause this?

Also, the bearings in the Air Conditioner compressor clutch have gone bad, do you think I need to purchase a new compressor, or is replacing the clutch possible on it?
