so this is my fault somewhat. before this the car was upshifting late. it had had this problem before but would shift if i let up on the gas then pressed it again. now it just shifts late (5-10 mph, it varies).

so before the mechanic just sprayed some wd-40 on i think the downshift cable (could be wrong). from what i remember of his directions just press the pedal with the car off and whatever moves is it.

so i did that today--it was a thin cable on a flywheel...i sprayed it thinking it would help. now, instead of upshifting late, it just does not get out of first gear. i had to drive with my hazards on because i couldn't get over 20....this seems like just a little problem but i have NO idea how to fix it. help me out!
