Somehow, the bleeder valve managed to vibrate itself loose while I was driving yesterday, immediately preventing my ability to shift to any gear other than the gear I was in at the time, which was third gear thankfully.
Somehow, I managed to drive almost 10 miles, while in third gear, with a floppy clutch pedal, without stopping or breaking any laws! This included going through a small town with traffic lights, and several turns.
Wouldn't want to do it again, though.
My question is this...I thought, after jacking up the front end and discovering the missing bleeder valve, that a regular brake bleeder valve off of a caliper I had laying around would fit, but it doesn't.
Does anyone know, or could check if you happen to have a slave cylinder for the 89 740GL Turbo laying around somewhere, the actual width, length, and thread pitch of the bleeder valve on a hydraulic clutch slave cylinder, in metric or Standard?
She's dead in the water until I can find a valve and get the slave cylinder bled out, and she's the only car I have with AC, so please respond if you have this info!
Thanks!
