This has to be a source of leaks for more than one 244. I expected rust but found a bad, I assume, factory installation. It is Volvo glass. Non hardening butyl pulled away from the metal allowing water to get in along the curve at the back.
I'd use my flat strip butyl but to get a good seal I'd have to lay the car on it's side and put a bunch of books on the glass. I wouldn't be able to lay an even layer of butyl anyway. I'll see what AutoZone or Car Quest has leaving an option open for a local glass shop. I think it has to go on soft and then harden to get a good seal, like windshield butyl.
BTW, three easy drill rivets held on the trim and I just used light 10 finger leverage pressure between the glass and body to ease off the window.
