I have too many cars but lots of time.
Here’s the line up:
‘91 Bertone Coupe – It has been my daily driver/commuter for 6 years, looking tired, but mechanically sound. Interior is in excellent condition (black). Cheap paint job by PO looks horrible. Windshield cracked.
‘78 Bertone Coupe – V8 conversion, I love this car!
‘67 122S In reasonably good condition, a rust free driver, it needs paint.
‘65 122S Installing a B230 w. 5spd, Mechanicals done, time to start considerable body work.
Here’s the problem:
I need to cut the inventory by 2 cars.
Nobody will pay what I want for the ’78. I want to keep it anyway. I no longer need to commute.
I want to keep something as a project, restorations don’t excite me much, and restoring the ’67 would be a low priority.
Now for the decisions:
‘91 Coupe - hardly worth anything if sold as is. I could probably get as much money for just the interior, air dam and wheels/tires as for the entire car.
The dilemma: Part it out and hang onto the drive train for a future project? Or spend a lot of time on prepping and painting that won’t really increase the value.
These are getting rare and I hate to break it up.
’67 122S Got it fairly cheap, converted from auto to M41J, Nice running B18 w Weber. Want to sell it but there are no takers.
The dilemma: Keep it as-is, part it out, or move conversion project from the ‘65 over to this chassis. I could sell the engine, transmission, A/C and other parts for more than I paid for the car.
‘65 122S B230 conversion completed, would take lots to finish, I can do it, but do I want to?
The dilemma: I could move this conversion to the ‘67 122S and sell off whatever is left over. This would require abandoning the ‘65 chassis.
I need some level headed thinking to decide.
Thanks
