940t - Leaking Exhaust Manifold? 900

I have reason to suspect that I have a leaking / failing exhaust manifold on my 1993 940t (about 140k miles). I've looked at the FAQ and reviewed previous posts - I'm okay completing the diagnosis, but have a couple questions:

-If I soak the bolts and am successful in removing the all of the nuts, it sounds as if I can loosen the turbo / down-pipe assembly and replace the gaskets without removing the turbo from the vehicle. Is this correct?
-It sounds like OEM gaskets and nuts along with high-temp anti-seize are needed parts. Anything else required for the basic job?
-While I'm in the area, what other items will I need to replace as a result of the work? I want to have the parts on hand if possible.

-What's the risk in running with a leak? It sounds as if the plug wires are protected by the heat shields. Aside from the annoying noise, is there an operational risk?
