continuous ignition cranking 200 1987

My ignition is acting up. Recently, when I started the engine, the starter kept on cranking. Only after playing with the "ON and "OFF" of the ignition key did the cranking stop.

What seems to be the problem? I think it has something to do with the wirings in the ignition. Inputs will be greatly appreciated.
