Blower motor replacement follies 200 1989

Thanks to previous experience plus Art Benstein's web page, I've been able to replace two blower motors.

I now have one with a weird problem upon reassembly. I cannot seem to be able to install the impellers without them scraping the inside housing -- it's as if the shaft is too short! I've tried to use a Dremel to take off a bit of the blades, but it's not helping!

Is there something wrong here? The replacement motor came from FCP Groton -- they're usually spot-on with replacement parts.
