Hello all,
I have a 760GLE. She's running like a top except for a few minor problems.
The first problem I run into only sometimes is that the electronic climate control will change over to defrost mode regardless of which dial setting I am on and whether I am under hard acceleration or moderate acceleration. I have checked under the hood for leaks and the check valves on the vacuum tee seem to be in order. If I turn off the car and leave it for a bit, when I turn it back on it seems to keep on working for a week, a month, before it will act up again but restarting usually fixes it. I was going over the FAQ again tonight and it mentioned something about a cold solder on an electric vacuum valve to the left of the glovebox. Also, when I turn my car off and the vents go back to their original positions, I can hear a squeak that fades as the vents move back. Just wondering where to find this cold soldered joint because it would seem that it would be a very possible solution to my intermittent problem.
My other small problem is that if I have someone sitting in my passenger seat and I go over a speedbump or a slight bump in the road, it will give off a very quick squeak. I've done the quick tierod and wheel bearing check (hands at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock, hands at 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock) and it checked out. Are there any grease fittings that need greasing every so often down there? I know ball joints are usually sealed units now, so I can't pump anything into there.
Your help is very much appreciated!
Thanks
