HEAT - my car is HOT, and I don't mean looking 900 1997

1997 965

The passenger floor gets so hot that the bottom of my bag (or one's feet) become uncomfortably hot from just driving around town.

Today I brought it to a shop to have them put an infrared thermometer on the catalytic converter and they said it read normal. The coolant was changed for good measure. Same result. What is going on and what could be the culprit?
