Parking brake stuck on, button has popped out and I can see a spring... 200 1993

...I know. This is no good.

The car has not been wanting to stay in park recently, and it was actually going in next week to get checked out. While putting the parking brake on, it rolled a little bit still, so i pulled a little more on it. This caused the parking brake to get stuck in the up/on position. If that weren't bad enough, the black button on the end popped out and is sticking out of the hole attached to a spring. I tried playing with it, but no luck. Aside from having it towed to get fixed, any suggestions?
