I have a 94, 940 wagon.
Bosh Ignition
Non-Turbo
4 cy
8 valves
My timing belt I took off looks lik it has more teeth than the replacement.
R3eplacement belt from FCP Groton is a TB234 also listed as a 271747
It is a continental. Went to continentals web site, and it checks out at the belt I need.
Problem is the teeth do not line up on the pully, so as you get half way around, the teeth are on top of the gear. So the belt doesn't fit.
The belt that came off is square tooth (FCP says it might be original (200k-good for it) The only number I can read are 3 space 269 space OS (or DS)
Is the 269 the number of teeth?
What engine could I have
Everthing about the engine says plain jane red block.
Can I put the gears from a 90 740 on this and get going? I have a parts car I can attack. Just wish I knew what was the deal with the belt. Did the front seals, so the belt had oil on it and I don't trust it.
Can't seem to upload phot, I have one of the belts compairirng the teeth.
Thanks
Eric
