Life Expectancy for Front Control Arm Rear Mounts? 200 1993

I finally finished the front suspension rehab on our '93 245. The main reason I was in there was to replace the POS aftermarket strut mounts I installed about two years ago and which proceeded to self destruct.

But I also decided to change both sets of lower a-arm bushings. Wow, was I surprised to find that the rear bushings were completely toast. I'm surprised the car was driving as well as it had been. Looking back through the records the previous owner supplied, these were previously changed seven years and about 60k miles ago. The parts I removed were labeled Meyle, West Germany. Based on their condition, I should have changed them long ago.

Is 60k miles to complete destruction normal for those bushings?

My replacements are some Boge bushings with the Volvo name ground away, so hopefully they will last as long as anything can be expected.

BTW, the same receipt for the bushing work shows new pads and rotors all the way around ... at a price of $612 + tax in 2002!!!!
