Limp home mode due to disconnected air mass meter 200 1993

I've read that there is a limp home mode that works when an air mass meter is unplugged (unplugged by brick driver because the amm has failed). I've never done this, and am wondering how "drivable" the brick is in this condition (how far can one drive like this, and at what speeds). Anybody have a feel for this? Thanks.
