Found some good info in FAQ/archives on this.
In my case, one strap/band rusted through, and fell off, but the other appears to be supporting the tank fine, and it doesn't appear that the tank has shifted at all. For obvious reasons, I'll get this fixed immediately, nonetheless.
There's talk of needing to support the tank when replacing these, but I'm wondering if that's even necessary. Can't the broken strap be easily replaced while the remaining strap is still holding the tank, and then once that new strap is tightened into place, the remaining original strap can be removed and replaced?
