1991 245.

Re-installation
Rack was removed and plugged with Bondo before being painted purple. I use wagons to haul stuff and I want to put the rack back on.

The bondo plugs leak anyway...

I don't think the old rubber mounting plugs are still in there, but I might luck out with a couple lost in the headliner.

Can these plugs be had from anyone other than the Volvo dealer? Does anyone know the Volvo Part Number for these (so I'm not at the mercy of the parts counter guys).

Painting
This car has a metallic purple paint job an mostly black trim colors. The roof rack however is a nice shiny chrome. My 945 has a matte black roof rack and I plan to paint the 240's chrome rack a black to match the generally black trim.

Painting chrome is kinda iffy. If this were for a 122 or 1800 wagon, I'd scream bloody murder, but I figure there are enough 240s around I won't be wrecking the last good chrome rack on Earth (correct me if I'm wrong)

Does anyone have any tips on painting a chromed/stainless rood rack?
