My overdrive light is on and the relay has voltage to it but doesn't respond to o.d switch. Replaced with known good relay and no joy. Looking at the solenoid, I can see and feel only one wire. Went to neighborhood Pick-a-part and looked at several potential donors. All had just the one white wire going to a pigtail plug, then disappearing through the body into the car.
My position is, the wiring on my present solenoid is very sad, and could be a the problem. However I would rather use a donor unit with better wiring , rather than repair the mess currently installed.
SO I would like to be able to pull new wire through the body and start fresh with wire and insulation.
So where doe the white wire enter the body, and where does it go once it gets there?
The all I have to do is remove the solenoid w/o hurting it(twice) or myself, and reinstall it w/o shoveling grease and dirt into the transmission.
Thanks as always
