I've got a 1990 240 DL Sedan with a long gone fuel gauge which I bypassed by simply zeroing the trip odometer every time I filled the tank...a bit low tech but I knew when to buy gas!
After an unrelated repair, the service light was not reset. I lost my little reset tool so I used a ball point pen to reset it and somehow broke my 2 odometers.
My mechanic suggested I just buy another cluster since the trip reset button had broken off and he couldn't repair the odometer quickly enough for his patience level!
I found one on line for a pretty good price plus a warranty so I bought it, having first clearly explaining the year, model and components of my original cluster. I just got the cluster and it is marked '87 on the back and has no service light reset. Does it have a service light? How does it get reset?
I thought the 1989-93 240's parts were interchangeable but the earlier models are not. However, I found Eric's 1989 Volvo odometer repair site and his instructions include 1986-1993.
Will this cluster work in my 1990?
