FPR failure 200 1986

This morning I started the 240 and noticed gas slowly dripping from the fuel pressure regulator, where the two halves of the “can” are crimped together. I made sure it wasn’t coming from the fuel or vacuum line(s).

Is this a common failure mechanism? I wouldn’t doubt if its original. Thanks!!
