Yazaki Speedo issues..not good news 700

I recently e-mailed Yazaki (USA ) , the instrument cluster manufacturer for some of our Bricks , and got a telephone response. In my e-mail I mentioned the component failure , particularly the electrolytic capacitors in the speedo. I have recently tried to repair my speedo with limited success , being only able to achieve up to 45mph , and from this site other members seem to have experienced the same. My correspondence to them was to source other components on the speedo board specifically the ICs. Well as it turned out , they are probably proprietary and may no longer be available. I have googled the ICs and there is some info on one in particular but nothing on the other . I have not invstigated the transistors as yet. I was told that Volvo (NA) made a buyout of remaining inventory from Yazaki about nine years ago and after thats depleted ..well its the end as far as availability is concerned. I am not giving up just yet , when time permits I will replace other components and see what gives...chuffsy
