On that trip back from Chicago, I spent a lot of time in cruise (ain't toll roads great at night?). The cruise functioned well, until I had to signal for a right merge/turn or dim the headlights. Then the cruise would cut out as though I'd tapped the brake. The resume feature would then work fine, if a little sluggishly.

Does this sound like a short in the wires in the stalk or column, or is there somewhere else I should look first? NOT an emergency, just a minor annoyance.
