780 Brakes - Girling/Bendix rotor madness 700 1991

I have just spent a Sunday afternoon replacing all my brake rotors, calipers, and shoes/pads. All went together well, considering the amount of times I have had to take parts back due to non application issues, and this being a sunday and all. Now, I have grinding in the front two rotors, really grinding on the left side. I find that the hardware for the pads isn't sitting correctly and is being ground by the edge of the rotor-vented, so both plates are grinding. The hub is good, re-greased the bearings, and the rotors run true. But, when the caliper mount plate is attached, I have to monkey with the metal hardware that the pads sit on as there is very little clearance. The nasty grinding was due to the metal not seating properly in the mounting bracket. So, the left rotor is quiet and behaving. Do the same check with the right rotor, and find that the rotor body is out of round, and the outer brake pad is hitting a high spot on the rotor. I try to have the old rotors turned at a reputable shop today, monday, and am told that my rotors can't be set up in their chuck due to the inside lip/groove of the rotor housing. I am ordering another set of rotors. My 780 has the Girling ABS setup. Has anyone had this occur? A bad set of rotors that are not quite right? I notice on the rotor that has a high spot on its body that the outer of the rotor plates seems higher than the inside rotor plate. Any tips out there? I have done brakes on Volvo's for a long time, but obviously not on a regular basis, and I have never had a problem of grinding like this!
