Tapping into 12v lighting for radio 200 1986

I have installed a new radio and it has a dimming feature. If I apply 12v to the ILLM input it dims the display. Handy for nighttime driving. My Volvo radio did not have that feature so the ILLM circuit is not in the connector.

I can get the 12v from fuse 16 when the parking lights or headlights are on.

My question is what's the best/easiest way of tapping into this 12v source and routing the wire to the upper radio slot?

I suppose I could pull the door jamb, the left kick panel around the fuse block, the upper kick panel, and pull the cluster. Is that the best way to go about it?

Thanks.
