Starting Gremlin 200

I have an 88' 240 Wagon. It runs well but has had a long standing starting problem. Starting ease or difficulty seems related to the ambient temperature. The car starts easily by just turning the key when it's cool to cold out (<60 degrees). The car will also start easily after being driven and warmed up.

The car starts very hard when it's warm out (>70 degrees). Temperatures are estimated. I have to crank the S... out of it and hold the gas pedal to the floor. It starts but seems flooded until it clears. The exhaust is heavy with a gas smell. I don't want to think about the gas being dumped past the rings into the oil.

Anybody been here, done this? Suggestions for testing? Fuel pressure? Oxygen sensor? Fuel pump in tank? Seems like the car is getting too much fuel. Fuel injectors? I put some injectors from an 83' 240 in it, are they different than 88' injectors?
TIA
Bill
