So the 93 945 has twice stranded us with a weak/dead battery (not enough juice to turn over) after guage funkiness (fuel and temp guages go to zero and tach gets twitchy). Read in the FAQ that bad solder joints on the printed circuit film on the back of the instrument cluster can prevent the alternator from charging properly. Anybody know how it manages to do this?
Plan to remove the cluster and re-solder this weekend, but was curious as to how this particular gremlin could affect the alt.
Thanks.
