damn odometer 200

I replaced the gear in the odometer last year and it seemed to fix it for a while. Then it stopped again so i took it apart, check for any stuck bits of plastic, put it back together, and it was fine. For a while, then it would work intermittently. So yesterday I took it apart again, I'm getting really good at it, oiled the little shafted the gear sits on and put it all back together. Seemed to work ok, until last night!!! Could it be the little motor not turning? It's driving me nuts. Any ideas?
