Diffferent radiator cap needed at high altitudes? Temp low 200

I just bought a 93 245 in Tennessee and drove it home to Colorado (thanks to all for help with shifting problem while on the trip back - it's working now). I'm at about 5,000 feet.

I noticed that the temperature gauge hangs about 1/8th to 1/4 from the bottom, while my 84 240 (a Colorado native) has always stayed at 1/2.

A mechanic buddy of mine always put a different pressure radiator cap on cars he brought up from sea level - said it somehow affected the radiator's operating temperature.
